Strawberry and Apricot Kernel Anti-Wrinkle Facial

Nourishing skin is one of the best things that you can do to help prevent wrinkles. When berries are in season I like to use this strawberry and apricot anti-wrinkle
facial to help soften my complexion and to infuse skin with free radical fighting antioxidants. Use it three times a week during the summer to keep the skin supple and the complexion bright.

Strawberries are loaded with antioxidant compounds, including quercetin, ellagic acid, and vitamin C. Vitamin C also helps the body form new collagen and is always a welcome nutrient in any anti-aging skin care treatment. I even use vitamin C cleansers, I like the Jason Natural Ester-C skin care line. Strawberries are also great for exfoliating the skin with alpha hydroxy acids.

Apricot kernel oil is also going to give the skin antioxidant action with vitamin E. This nutrient is also important for skin repair. Apricot kernel is of course a great source of essential fatty acids, mostly omega-6 oils to help fight inflammation and to protect against moisture loss. Finish with rose essential oil for a gentle toning and anti-bacterial action and you have one of the best anti-wrinkle facials that you can make at home.

To make this strawberry and apricot face mask you will need:

  • 4 medium sized strawberries, more or less
  • 2 teaspoons of apricot kernel oil
  • 3 drops of rose essential oil

Clean the face with warm water and your normal cleanser. Gently dry by dabbing with a cotton cloth. Blend all ingredients together in a blender for thirty seconds. Spread this strawberry mask over your face and neck, gently rubbing into the skin. Leave on for twenty minutes before rinsing and following with a moisturizer. While your mask is setting, rinse out the blender and use a few more strawberries for a delicious antioxidant-packed fresh fruit smoothie!
